Abandoned Bat Hotel
This abandoned hotel in Chanthaburi province, eastern Thailand, was never finished. It was under construction near the entrance of Namtok Phlio National Park when people started complaining that it is, in fact, not lawful to develop private properties on public land, no matter how 'hiso' (affluent) you are, even in a system that favours the wealthy. This is a very rare instance in which the rule of law was actually enforced in Thailand & someone with some money & influence wasn't quite rich/influential enough to take full advantage. I see this decaying waste of capital & resources as an atypical victory for the common folk. The resort's only guests are thousands of giant bats, may they have a long & restful stay in their rightful home.
