Cha-Am Ghost Hotel
This completed, yet never opened luxury hotel in Cha-Am province is located in the middle of an area with no houses and roads cloaked in overgrown foliage. It has a dark history which I can't verify as it is just word-of-mouth, but it goes like this:
According to local legend/gossip/rumor, the hotel was the site of a murder. A foreign man had a Thai girlfriend, things went sour over money that was supposedly stolen from him, then the Thai girlfriend had her Thai boyfriend murder the foreigner at the hotel so that they could keep the stolen money.
Again, no way to verify this, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was some truth to it as this sort of thing happens regularly. If true, this is yet another dark story at another bando in the land of smiles.
