The Airport Cafe-Club
This location, named 'King Kaeo Cafe', was a nightclub in Bang Phli, Samut Prakarn, right next to Suvarnabhumi International Airport. I don't have much info on it other than what I got from the guards working at a nearby gated entrance. They said that the sight was once a nightclub, it's been closed for 20 years and it is now owned by the city.
The points of interest are the facade which includes the name 'King Kaeo Cafe' in large lettering & a neon sax, the spiral staircase with skylight, stage for a band, and the bar. The skylight, in particular, shows the era of the clubs prominence as these types of skylights were in fashion in such venues, as well as in houses of the affluent, around 30-40 years ago. I've seen them in a number of abandoned sites in Thailand that were built in around the same time period. The upstairs level has another bar and a lot of dark rooms. I saw a small orange lamp which was alight, indicating that there may be a squatter or two who crash there regularly. I didn't go into that area because it was too dark for decent pictures and because I didn't want to get stabbed with a needle or possibly dowsed with a urine receptacle.
All in all this was a quick and fun place to explore, very close to home and ended up with some decent images.
