The Unfinished Canal Mansion
This incomplete-yet-opulent & derelict mansion rests in lush overgrowth on the bank of one of Bangkok's many canals. After speaking to a few local residents at a nearby temple I was able to gather some sparse information about it's past. The owner/original builder ran out of funding at around the time of the late 90's financial crisis, known locally as Tom-yum Goong. He then moved abroad and the property is now overseen by family members who live in houses adjacent to the empty structure. The white coloured cement columns and marble steps really stand out amidst the green plant life which blankets the property, making it appear a little like a lost ancient temple nestled deep in a jungle.
