the abandoned bangkok hospital
This hospital, located in Yannawa District in Bangkok, has been abandoned for over 10 years. It now serves as the occasional movie set for Thai horror films, including one recently made by famous director Poj Arnon. The hospital is highly restricted, with guards and locks on all entrances. It took me several visits, some quiet sneaking, and even asking my girlfriend to run interference for me so that I could get the few shots that you see here. The crown jewel of the hospital is the morgue on the second floor.
I have sent an application to gain access, but it was denied as they have a pending lawsuit of some kind and do not want foreigners, especially, taking still-frame shots of the property. Also, the 'managers' are quite greedy and are known to charge 8000 baht/hour or 30k baht/day to shoot short films inside. I consider this a long-term work in progress and will hopefully, some day, be able to gain access to the entire hospital.
