the azure swimming pool

The Azure Swimming Pool in District 3 of Pripyat is the most well-known of three indoor swimming pools in Pripyat. The building also contains a basketball gym adjacent to the pool. This facility stayed open 10 years after the accident, serving the liquidators brought in for clean up efforts and to continue running the remaining reactors. It is known as one of the 'cleaner' places in the city with regard to radiation contamination.
